The Anti-Graffiti Creative Sustainability Programme is a participatory arts programme for secondary school students in Fingal. Through discussion, creative exercises and practical art-making, students explore graffiti, community identity, environmental awareness and positive forms of self-expression. Led by artist and educator Shannon Jade Wilson, students consider their relationship with their local area, the impact graffiti can have on shared spaces, and how art can help communicate ideas about issues that matter to them. Working collaboratively, they develop an environmental theme into a group mural and a collection of handmade zines. The programme concludes with a full-day practical workshop and the option of a school or community launch celebrating the students’ work.
