Excellent standard for nine Beaches in latest Bathing Water Quality Results
Nine of the identified beaches; Balbriggan Front Strand, Skerries South Beach, Loughshinny, Rush North, Rush South, Portrane the Brook, Donabate Balcarrick, Portmarnock Velvet Strand and Burrow Beaches recorded excellent results from the bathing water quality samples taken on 15.06.2026.
Claremont Beach exceeded the “poor” classification standard for bathing waters. A temporary “Do Not Swim Prohibition Notice” was put in place on 16 06 2026 on the basis of a preliminary bathing water quality result received on that date. Claremont Beach will be resampled tomorrow.
The non-identified bathing water at Malahide (permanent red flag) also met the standard of “excellent” water quality, however a temporary “Do Not Swim Prohibition Notice” relating to an incident report of risk to water quality is in place at this beach, until 30th June 2026.
The next scheduled sample will take place on 22.06.2026 only at Balbriggan Beach.
