Fingal County Council is inviting schools to take part in the One Small Action for Nature – Fingal Schools Challenge.

Complete one simple nature action, send us one photo and one sentence, and be in with a chance to win a Bosca Dúlra – a Nature Box packed with Irish biodiversity resources for your classroom.

 

1. Who can Enter?

All schools in Fingal, maximum one entry per class.

 

2. The Challenge:

Teachers choose ONE simple biodiversity action to complete with their class, for example:

· Do a 10-minute nature walk around the school grounds

· Build a bug hotel from scrap materials

· Record 5 living things spotted in the schoolyard

· Draw bark rubbings from different trees

· Map where birds might nest on the grounds

 

3. How to Enter?

Teachers submit:

· One photo of the action

· One sentence answering: “What did your class do for nature?”

4. How do Schools Win?

Every valid entry goes into a draw. We have 30 kits to give away.

 

5. Closing Date:

Please submit your entries by the 1st May 2026

Winners will be announced on 6th May, and the prize will be posted out to winning schools.

Each winning classroom receives:

· A full Bosca Dúlra kit for up to 32 pupils

· Hands-on biodiversity games, trails & activities

· Automatically enrolled in Ireland’s largest nature education programmes

· Plus: 1 square metre of Irish land is rewilded per kit
