KORALE Project fourth Study Visit in Fingal

Across Europe and beyond, loneliness and social  isolation continue to affect communities of all ages. While the issue is increasingly  recognised as both a pressing public health concern and a challenge to social cohesion, the Interreg Europe Project KORALE is continuing its work to connect
regions, share solutions, and foster long-term strategies. In line with this mission,  Fingal will become the next stop on the KORALE Community Rail; the fourth international study visit of the KORALE project will take place on October 29, 2025.

KORALE, launched in April 2024, connects six countries— Basque Country/Spain,  Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Ireland and Portugal—in a joint effort to address unwanted  loneliness. Co-financed by the European Union through Interreg Europe, KORALE is  led by the Adinberri Foundation with partners including Social City Wien, Region Midtjylland, Stad Aalst, Fingal County Council and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa.

In addition to knowledge exchange, the study visit will contribute to KORALE’s longterm objective: the development of a European Public Policy Guide on Combating  Loneliness, to be published at the conclusion of the project. This study visit in Fingal  will showcase local interventions from all partners, foster connections within the  growing community of practice, and explore how practices may be adopted in different  cities. By engaging local stakeholders and older residents of Fingal, the project aims  to ensure that lived experience directly informs both policy and practice

KORALE community rail fourth stop: Fingal, Ireland

The KORALE European Meeting on 29th October 2025, titled “From Isolation to  Inclusion: A Collaborative Approach” will take place in Malahide in Fingal. It marks the  fourth in a series of six interregional gatherings and will serve as a key moment for  exchanging good practices, exploring innovative strategies, and fostering a pan-European dialogue on tackling loneliness as well as social isolation. The program  features key-note speeches, inspiring good practices presentations from the project  partners, creating direct opportunities for direct exchange between practitioners and  policymakers. While the consortium convenes for a partner meeting, conference  delegates will join round-table consultations to reflect on the presented practices and  draft recommendations on which approaches could be replicated locally in Fingal.
