From spooky storytimes and craft workshops to Halloween-themed movies and creative writing sessions, there’s something for every young reader and family.

Join us for interactive games, author-led workshops, and seasonal activities that encourage imagination, creativity, and a love of reading at our libraries in Balbriggan, Blanchardstown, Malahide, Swords, Howth, Baldoyle, Rush, Donabate, and Garristown.

  • Children’s Halloween Costume Swap Shop

11th October, 10:00am – 12:30pm

Trick or Treat! Do you want a new Halloween costume for your children but want to save money? The Costume Swap Shop is making a spooky debut at Balbriggan Library on Saturday 11th October. Here you can swap your child’s old Halloween costume for a new one, without spending a penny! Drop your Halloween costumes donation into Balbriggan Library, in exchange for tokens on Thursday, 9th October from 2pm - 6:30pm. Children’s Halloween costumes only.

 

  • Sew a Halloween Hand Puppet (Children)

28th October 11:00am -1:00pm

  • D&D Halloween Horrors

Join Freddie and Megan in Balbriggan Library for a Dungeons & Dragons Hallowoneshot. This horrifying adventure is perfect for spooky season but beware, you never know what might await you.   • Halloween monster masks with Tarsila Krüse

Join children’s author Megan Wynne for a creative writing workshop, inspired by her new book, The Spirit of Loughmoe Abbey, about a troubled girl who doesn’t fit in at boarding school until she encounters a mysterious ghost!
