Fingal Residents Invited to Help Shape Future Community Priorities

Fingal County Council is calling on residents, community groups, voluntary organisations, businesses and local stakeholders to have their say on the issues that matter most in their communities through a new Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP) survey and a series of public engagement events.

The online survey, which will launch on 12 October and remain open for five weeks, will gather feedback from people living and working across Fingal. The findings will help inform future community safety priorities and actions within the county.

The surveys form part of the work of the LCSPs, which bring together a broad range of agencies, organisations and community representatives to identify local concerns and develop practical solutions to improve community wellbeing and safety.

Members of the public are also invited to attend upcoming LCSP public meetings, where they will have an opportunity to discuss local issues, contribute ideas and engage directly with partnership members.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tony Murphy, encouraged residents to take part in the survey and public meetings as he stated, "The Local Community Safety Partnerships provide an important opportunity for people to have a direct say in shaping the future of their communities. I would encourage everyone living, working or studying in Fingal to participate in the survey and attend the public meetings. Local knowledge and lived experience are invaluable in helping us identify priorities and build stronger, safer and more connected communities."

Sinead Murphy, Director of Services for Operations, noted how community participation would be central to the success of the initiative, saying, "Creating safe, inclusive and welcoming communities requires collaboration and engagement. These surveys and public meetings will help us better understand local concerns, identify emerging issues and ensure that the voices of residents help inform the actions and initiatives delivered through the Local Community Safety Partnerships."
