Cllr. Kate Relihan coopted onto Fingal County Council for People Before Profit- Solidarity

Fingal County Council has welcomed Councillor Kate Relihan as its newest member following her co-option on Monday 14 September. Cllr.Relihan will represent People Before Profit-Solidarity in the Castleknock LEA following the resignation of Cllr. Helen Redwood.

The Mayor of Fingal, Cllr.Tony Murphy thanked Cllr.Redwood for her decades of service to the Dublin 15 community as well as her contribution to the Council and wished her well in her recovery.

Addressing members following her co-option, Cllr.Relihan also wished Cllr.Redwood well following her resignation describing her as a “fighter for change” and a “diligent Councillor”. Cllr.Relihan said she was honoured to have been selected to represent the Castleknock LEA on Fingal County Council and is looking forward to working with her fellow elected representatives to address areas such as the delivery of more social and affordable housing, the provision of childcare facilities, and the cost of living.

As well as this, as a teacher in one of the local Gaelscoileanna, Cllr.Relihan would like to focus on promoting the use of the Irish language across the county and is looking forward to engaging with the Council on this.
