Disabled Persons Grants (DPG) Scheme

The Disabled Persons Grants (DPG) Scheme is administered by the Council's Estate Management Section in accordance with guidelines issued by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH). The scheme is available exclusively to Fingal social housing tenants only.

The scheme is designed to support older persons and individuals with disabilities by funding adaptations that improve accessibility, independence and mobility within their home. Works may include the installation of stair lifts, ramps, handrails, level-access showers, and other minor modifications considered necessary to meet the needs of a household member. 

While the scheme also provides for home extensions in certain cases, all alternative housing solutions must first be considered before an extension can be approved. Applications are progressed based on the suitability of the property, priority status and length of time on the list.
