Noise Nuisance from Pubs/Clubs
Under intoxicating liquor legislation, venues that serve alcohol such as public houses, nightclubs etc. are regulated under a licensing system which is administered by the District Court.
Licenses are renewed annually by application to the District Court and anyone deemed to be directly affected by the operation of particular premises may make representations at the relevant hearing if he/she wishes to register a concern or object to the granting of such a license.
Local authorities have no role in enforcing this legislation. However, if you have any concerns about noise from licensed premises, you should, in the first instance, consider the options available under the above legislation and contact your local District Court Office accordingly.
