Seachtain na Gaeilge at Fingal Libraries

An bhfuil Gaeilge agat? / Do you speak Irish?

It doesn’t matter if you do or not- all are welcome to attend the numerous events that are taking place in Fingal Libraries over Seachtain na Gaeilge!

Seachtain na Gaeilge takes place from the 1st to the 17th of March all over Ireland. It is the biggest Irish language festival in Ireland and the world, and it is one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture that takes place each year across the world.

Fingal Libraries are running lots of events to celebrate. Óga Yóga, Yoga through Irish for children, takes place in Blanchardstown (March 3rd), Rush (March 5th) and Malahide (March 6th) at 3.30 pm.

Blanchardstown Library are hosting a fantastic afternoon of Gaeilge, sean-nós singing and traditional Irish music with with Antaine Ó Faracháin (Songs/Fiddle) & Nollaig Mac Cárthaigh (Uilleann Pipes) on March 12th at 1pm.  The two gentlemen will be joined by some very special guests from the local area as a surprise too! This is a free event for all ages and all are welcome- no booking is required.

Blanchardstown Library will also be hosting Ronaldo Fanzini, king of mayhem, who presents his wonderfully funny and madcap circus for young and old. This amazing show will be in both Gaeilge agus Bearla and is fun for all the family! All are welcome on March 19th from 3.30pm-4.30pm.

In addition to all this, we have a wide variety of books, audiobooks and ebooks, and language courses available through Fingal Libraries as Gaeilge, and indeed in English, about our country and culture. All you have to do is sign up as a member for free and open yourselves up to a world of possibilities!

Go raibh míle maith agat,

Fingal Libraries.
