Creative Ireland Fingal

Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, and Eamon Ryan, Minister for the Environment, Climate, Communications and Transport have launched a €3 million fund to support imaginative creative projects that build awareness around climate change and empower citizens to make meaningful behavioural changes.

A new exciting series, Cúltír ("Hinterland") on TG4 has been supported by Fingal County Council as part of its Creative Ireland Programme and will feature Fingal on Sunday 28 August

Mobile Music Machine are delighted to return to Fingal for 50 care concerts between July-December 2022 visiting residential care homes, hospital settings and day care centres.

An exhibition ‘A Dangerous Man: Frank Lawless and the War of Independence in Fingal’ and film commission ‘Peace to the Ashes’ commemorating the life and legacy of Frank Lawless T.D. was launched by the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh at an event in County Hall Swords on 25th April 2022.  View it online here

Welcome to a brand new adventure in Creativity for Fingal libraries. In the last year we’ve been working hard to create a makerspace with the help of our Creator in residence Kate Delaney.

Our fully equipped makerspace is now open for business and contains a huge range of equipment that will become a resource to all makers and budding makers in the community.

A mini-maker festival is planned for Balbriggan library on the 23rd of April to mark the start of the Balbriggan Loves learning festival.

This event will include a showcase for makers and creators in Hamilton hall and the library will host a full day programme of activities along the theme of creativity.

Facilitated by Fingal County Council's Creative & Cultural team and supported by the Commemorations Unit, Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media

Among the projects approved in 2020 were Dear Fingal by David Gilna and Women of Fingal Tapestry by Uisce

Among the projects approved in 2021 was A tribute to poet Derek Mahon with Stephen Rea, Matt Molloy, Neil Martin and Paddy Glackin with Brídín and Felispeaks
