Fingal County Council and COVID-19: Help us to help you.
As we manage the gradual return to full services please note that things might look a little different, with screens, hand sanitiser units and physical distancing, but we are so happy to welcome you back to rediscover your local library.
Our libraries are open during normal opening hours for our patrons to browse and borrow books and DVDs etc.
You can call in to browse the shelves and borrow and return books. We request that you bring your library card so you can access all our services.
In this initial phase of re-opening there will be no seating for reading or studying, and users are encouraged to keep their visit as short as possible, and to use the self-service kiosks.
Visitors will be able to collect printing and photocopy at our printing stations.
Remember, you can still access our range of online services too, from eBooks to digital magazines and online courses – there’s something for everyone
You can find our normal opening hours here
We will continue while there is demand with our Contact and Collect Service
Members should note that Malahide and Balbriggan libraries are currently closed for renovation works.
You can contact your next closest library in the network to avail of the ‘Contact and Collect’ service. Updates on progress towards re-opening of these libraries will be posted on Fingal Libraries social media platforms and on the fingal.ie website.
You can still join online and avail of our eservices to access online books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, elearning and language courses.
Fingal Libraries still has activities online such as story-times, junior coding classes, yoga, reading challenges and other activities.
We are also operating a book delivery service for those in our community who are cocooning or housebound. For more information on our cocooning service please contact [email protected]
