Six: Water sports

Malahide marina

The Fingal coastline is a great place for families to try their hand at water sports. In addition to the seaside locations, the inland estuaries provide opportunities to try your hand at something different in relative safety. Howth, Malahide and Skerries are home to sailing clubs which can provide sailing courses for beginners and the more experienced sea sailors.

There are numerous providers offering kayaking and paddle boarding in the Fingal area.

Organised sea kayaking trips are available in Howth and Skerries, taking in the Bailey lighthouse and Skerries islands. Classes in dinghy sailing are available from providers in Malahide and Swords. The Broadmeadow estuary is a good location for windsurfing in a relatively safe environment.
