Temporary Road Closures
Fingal County Council have made an order to temporarily close Corrs Lane, Rush, on the 23rd of February for one day from 08:00 to 20:00 to facilitate installing a wastewater connection. See Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
An application has been received from Donabate St Patrick’s Festival Committee for permission to temporarily close roads in the Donabate area for the purpose of facilitating a St. Patrick’s festival and parade. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 12.30hrs to 16:30hrs on Saturday 14th of March 2026. The roads in question are: Donabate Main Street, New Road, Chapel View, The R126. An application has been received from Lusk Athletic Club for permission to temporarily
close roads in the Lusk area for the purpose of holding a 4 Mile Road Race. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 1.00pm to 4.00pm on Sunday 1st of March 2026. See 1st Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
An application has been received from Rush Community Council for permission to
temporarily close roads in the Rush area for the purpose of facilitating a St. Patricks Day parade. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 12:30hrs to 14:00hrs on Tuesday 17th of March 2026. See 1st Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
An application has been received from GMC Utilities Ltd on behalf of Uisce Eireann for permission to
temporarily close the junction of Shenick Road and Holmpatrick Skerries Co. Dublin for the purpose of installing a new sewer connection. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 9th March to 15th
March 2026 for 24 hours per day. See 1st Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
An application has been received from Lusk Athletic Club for permission to temporarily close roads in the Lusk area for the purpose of holding a 4 Mile Road Race. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from 1.00pm to 4.00pm on Sunday 1st of March 2026. The roads in question are: Chapel Green, L-1160 (Chapel Road), L-1401 (Main Street), Northbound Lane of the R127 (Rathmore Road), from the Station Road Roundabout to the Skerries Road Roundabout, L-1402 (Station Road), from Station Road Roundabout to Dublin Road and L5245 (Post Office Road). An application has been received from ESB Networks for permission to temporarily close South Shore Road, Rush, Co. Dublin for the purpose of ESB duct installation. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 16th February to 20th February 2026 for 24 hours per day. See 1st Advert 2nd Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
It is proposed Kelly's Lane off Balbriggan Road, Co. Dublin will be closed for the purpose of facilitating pipe remedial work. It is proposed that the road will be closed from the 16th of February 2026 to the 18th of February 2026 from 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs. See 1st Advert 2nd Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
Fingal County Council have made an order to temporarily close Old Barrack Road, Rush Co. Dublin following an application from ESB for the purpose of ESB duct installation. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 9th February 2026 to 13th February 2026 for 24 hours per day. See 1st Advert, 2nd Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
Fingal County Council has made an Order to temporarily close Clonard Road, Clogheder, Co. Dublin to facilitate the installation of drainage and ESB ducting to accommodate the new development in Folkstown, Taylor Hill. It is proposed that the roads will be closed from the 19th of January 2026 to the 13th of February 2026 for 24 hours.See 2nd Advert and Traffic Management Plan.
An application has been made by Fingal County Council Operation’s Department for the temporary
closure of Tucketts Lane, Howth, Co Dublin. It is proposed to close Tucketts Lane between Main
Street, Howth as far as the junction with St Nessan’s and St Lawrence Terrace. The purpose of this closure is to facilitate surface water drainage works The period of the proposed temporary closure will be from 9:00 am Monday 19th of January 2026 to 17:00 pm Friday 13th of March 2026. An application has been made by Fingal County Council Operation’s Department for the temporary
closure of Main Street, Howth, Co Dublin at its junction with Tuckett’s Lane. It is proposed also
to close Tuckett’s Lane between Main Street, Howth as far as the junction with St. Nessan’s and
St. Lawrence Terrace. The purpose of this closure is to facilitate surface water drainage works across Main Street Howth. The period of the proposed temporary closure will be from 9.00am Monday 9th of March 2026 to 17.00 pm Friday 20th of March 2026. See 1st Advert.
Fingal County Council have made an order to temporarily close the Harbour Road and Seapoint Lane Junction, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin for the purpose of resurfacing works on the road and the construction of a new step area. It is proposed that the road will be closed from 1st December 2025 to 18th December 2025 for 24 hours per day. See 2nd advert and traffic management plan.
We wish to advise that Harbour Road and Seapoint Lane Junction in Balbriggan will be closed for the purpose of resurfacing works and the construction of a new step area. It is proposed this will be from 9th October 2025 to 27th November 2025 for 24 hours per day. Permitted working hours shall be between 08.00 to 18.00 each day. See advert and Map.

On site development works are nearing completion at Bremore Castle Car Park in Balbriggan, with 50% now open. It is expected to be fully open by the end of September 2025 month with 111 spaces.
Road Works Speed Limit Order of 50 km/h on part of Balheary Road, Swords to facilitate the carrying out of an Active Travel Scheme. On Balheary Road to a point 600m north of its junction with the Glen Ellan Road and to a point 50m west of its junction with Balheary Road. The Road Works Speed Limit will be in effect from the 2nd of April 2025 to the 1st of April 2026. See advert and map.
Fingal County Council has made an order to temporarily close various non-national roads in the Balbriggan/Swords Operational Area to facilitate road resurfacing works being carried out by the Operations Department at various intervals between 1st May 2025 and 1st December 2025. See advert.
We are looking at the provision of traffic calming measures in Naul Village. The scheme would include ramps, road signage and road markings. You can see what's envisaged with Ad1 and Map1. Plans and particulars of the Scheme are available for inspection in the County Hall in Swords, at Balbriggan Library and at the Seamus Ennis Centre. - Portrane Road, Donabate, Co Dublin. – 1 No. Raised Uncontrolled Crossing
- Gaelscoil Na Mara, Donabate, Co. Dublin. – 1 No. Flat Top Traffic Calming Ramp.
- Cianlea, Swords, Co. Dublin. – 2 No. Round Top Traffic Calming Ramps.
- Holywell, Swords, Co. Dublin. - 1 No. Bus Friendly Ramp with Zebra Crossing Road Markings.
- Flemington Lane Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. – 11 No. Round Top Traffic Calming Ramps.
Temporarily closure of Seatown Road from the Junction of St Columcille’s Drive/Seatown Road to the Junction of North Street/Seatown Road. This period will be 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2026.
