Two: Hill Walking

In addition to the many accessible beaches, the Fingal coastline is also home to some of the best hill and cliff walks in the greater Dublin region.

Howth Cliff path is a magnet for walkers ranging from the gentle stroller to the seasoned hill walker. The four loop routes offer a choice of distance ranging from 6kms (One and a half hours) to 10Kms (Four hours).

The Cliff walks provide splendid views of Dublin bay and down the south east coastline, with Ireland’s eye and Lambay island visible from the height. Families who want a bit of guidance on this route can take advantage of the many guided walks around the Howth area, with additional features on offer along with the guidance (www.visithowth.ie).

The rugged coastline from Rush to Skerries past Loughshinny offer alternatives to those seeking a walk with fewer people around, but equally enticing views over the Irish Sea.
