Community Initiatives

Fingal County Council has launched a public awareness campaign, highlighting the dangers quad bikes and scramblers pose to children.  The campaign in the form of a cinema advert supports the recent initiative by the Road Safety Authority and An Garda Síochána.  The advert outlines the correct environment, and care to be taken when riding these vehicles, and will be shown in cinemas throughout Fingal.

The entrance to St. Oliver Plunkett’s National School was transformed this morning from a congested road into a lively playground full of children playing with friends before their lessons.

Fingal County Council is supporting ReUse month this October. ReUse month gives us a chance to be creative in our thinking and to identify any opportunities for ReUsing materials that might otherwise be disposed of.

There was great success for Fingal at the IPB Pride of Place Awards as Flemington, Balbriggan was awarded ‘Best Urban Neighbourhood’ and the residents of the Whitestown Estate, Dublin 15 were runners-up in the ‘Best Housing Estate’ category at the Awards in Kilkenny.

The official opening of Luttrellstown Community Centre, a new multi-purpose state-of-the-art facility which will provide a focal point for local residents and organisations, has taken place.
