Council publishes proposals for the construction of a new Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge in Donabate

Fingal County Council has commenced a Part 8 procedure to obtain planning approval for the construction of a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Dublin to Belfast Railway line at Corballis, Donabate. The proposed bridge will cross over the railway line south of Donabate Train Station, thereby facilitating a safe and segregated pedestrian and cycle route over the railway line. It will enhance connections between the development lands at Corballis, Donabate Village, the railway station and Newbridge Demesne.

Fingal County Council has been shortlisted for eleven awards in the sixteenth annual Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards. The Awards, sponsored by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, are held to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work being carried out by Local Authorities all over Ireland.

Construction has commenced on the Baldoyle to Portmarnock walking and cycling greenway project in North County Dublin. Murphy International was awarded this 2.5 million euro contract earlier this month by Fingal County Council.

The Dublin Plein Air Painting Festival is supported by Fingal County Council and will bring art to all corners of the county with Farmleigh House, Swords Castle, Skerries Harbour, Malahide Castle & Gardens, The 12th Lock Royal Canal, Donabate Beach and Balbriggan Harbour being the venues for this year’s event.
