Flooding can have several causes. It may be due to a weather event, overflowing river banks, coastal storms or blocked or overloaded drainage ditches. We have listed some information on what you should do if you encounter flooding in your area. 

Reporting Flooding Out of Hours

For out of hours flooding emergencies please contact (01) 8905000.

Any non emergency issues can be reported out of hours at and will be logged with crews for investigation.



Never walk or drive through floodwater. There may be obstacles under the surface that could cause injury. Water could be contaminated, and pose a risk to your health.

Reporting Flooding During Office Hours

For minor flooding you can make a report at and the issue will be logged with our crews for investigation.

For major flooding due to a weather event such as excess rain and storms, you should report the issue to our Operations Department.
