Preliminary works on Portrane Town and Village Renewal Scheme commence

The Operations Department has commenced preliminary works in Portrane which will see the development of a focal point in Portrane Village.

The anchor will be moved and relocated as a central feature on the open space beside the Brook Pub, and will be surrounded by raised flower beds. Paths will lead up to the anchor and semi mature specimen trees will be planted around the open space. The Christmas tree will also be relocated to this open space.

Pollinator friendly planting including bulbs and wildflowers which will flower from February to November will also be carried out around the green.

This work has been agreed following a period of consultation with Portrane Village Renewal Group.
