National Tree Week will take place from 8th-15th March 2026 and Fingal County Council has a number of initiatives planned to celebrate this including plans to distribute 8,000 trees to residents for planting across the county, as well as hosting a number of community planting events and workshops.
Fingal County Council’s Community Development staff are supporting 65 community groups to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th, awarding €18,000 in bursaries to help ‘Shine a Light’ on women’s contributions across Fingal.
Ceol, Craic and Gaeilge from 7 to 9pm, the entertainment will be provided by four hugely accomplished musicians, Éamonn de Barra, Paudie O’Connor, and Aoife Ní Chaoimh.
This week, Fingal’s Comhairle na nÓg visited the Council Chamber for a meeting with the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Tom O’Leary, and the Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly.
Funding has been secured for the installation of a Rock Armour Revetment at Burrow Beach, Portrane, to prevent further erosion of this section of coastline which is threatening homes in the area.
