Fingal children taking part in the Marathonkids programme had the pleasure of a visit from Marathonkids Ireland ambassador and former Irish Olympian, David Gillick.

Cricket Leinster Youth Fingal made a successful return to Merseyside having previously visited there in 2019, securing not only a winning record but more importantly reinforcing friendships which will have a lasting impact with all involved.

Another successful Fingal and East Meath Pitch & Putt Championship came to an exciting conclusion with the final so closely fought this year that the difference came down to one single stroke.

HER Outdoors Week took place from 8 to14 August 2022 and featured a very popular and successful series of events in Fingal.

The relationship of the people of Balbriggan with their beautiful sandy beach was celebrated once again at the second Beach Activity Festival, which took place on Sunday August 14.

Fingal County Council Sports Office was delighted to learn of multiple Fingal-based cricket clubs achieving over €330,000 in government grants from the “Sports Capital and Equipment Programme”. 

Operation Transformation Leader and Swords resident Katie Jones along with the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh, joined enthusiastic walkers on Sunday January 16th in Holywell Park to complete a 3k walk organised by Fingal County Council Sport Office in conjunction with Operation Transformation.

Fingal County Council Sports Office have launched a pilot 4 – week ParkFit Programme, starting the week of August 30th, in Balbriggan, Dublin 15 and Meakstown.

Fingal County Council and Cricket Leinster are proud that it has been able to deliver an expanded in-school cricket activities programme, despite all of the challenges presented by Covid 19.

Fingal County Council’s Sports Office, in partnership with the Fingal Orienteers Club and the Irish Orienteering Association and with support from Sport Ireland through the Dormant Accounts Fund, have organised an innovative orienteering initiative called ‘Run Your Town’.
