Fingal County Council has launched phase 2 of the Community Climate Action Programme which supports community groups, sports clubs, youth clubs and everything in-between, with funding to deliver local climate action measures to reduce emissions in a community setting. The grants are funded under Strand 1 Building Low-Carbon Communities as part of the Government Department of Climate, Energy Climate Action Programme. 

On the conclusion of this year’s Loughshinny Boathouse Studio Award, the Mayor of Fingal Cllr. Tom O’Leary and County Arts Officer Sarah O’Neill met artist Maria McSweeney, the recipient of the award, to reflect on the outcomes of her residency exploring the Fingal coastline. 

Fingal County Council intends to seek the approval of An Coimisiún Pleanála in accordance with Section 175 of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended, for the development of c. 14.75ha for residential development at Mooretown, Swords, Co. Dublin.

The Land Development Agency (LDA) has announced the start of construction on 193 affordable and social homes at Golding Green, Kinsealy. Lydon has been appointed as development partner and will deliver the scheme in a single phase, with all homes expected to be completed in 2028.

ANCA has published the 2025 aircraft noise contours for Dublin Airport. The contours present the annual average aircraft noise levels in a standardised European format for both the night-time and the full 24-hour periods of the year.

A planning application to expand Dublin Airport’s annual passenger capacity from 32 to 40 million is under review. ANCA has assessed the proposal, identifying measures to reduce aircraft noise impacts and updating noise objectives. A 14‑week public consultation is now open.
