The beginning of September doesn’t just mean the start of autumn – it also marks the return of the annual Howth Maritime and Seafood Festival which transforms the lovely coastal village to a mecca for toe-tapping live music, ‘sea to table’ food, free family activities and the finest local products.

Annually, the Aircraft Noise Competent Authority (ANCA) is required to review the measures in place at Dublin Airport to reduce aircraft noise emissions where possible and mitigate the impact of aviation activity where needed.

The Meakstown Community Centre in Dublin 11 has reached a significant milestone as Vision Contracting Limited, the main contractor, officially handed over the building’s keys to Fingal County Council. The state-of-the-art facility will now undergo its final fit-out stage, managed by Apleona Ireland, with doors expected to open in October 2024.

Community Climate Action Fingal entered a new phase this month when 25 Fingal-based community groups and organisations signed contracts to receive grant funding to a total value of €1,127,000.

The revitalisation of the Ward River Regional Park in Swords is continuing with the  commencement of works to help enhance outdoor recreation, biodiversity, water quality and the visual amenity of the 80-hectare park. 

The events programme is a new initiative by the Biodiversity Team and presents a variety of outdoor and indoor events for the public, most of them free of charge.
