Bathing Water Quality Results from testing 6th September 2021

Bathing Water quality results for monitoring samples taken on Monday 6th September, 2021. The results met the standard for “excellent” for all identified bathing waters. The non-identified bathing water at Malahide Beach (constant red flag) met with “excellent” status also.

A Burning Tide - New Writing Commission for Culture Night

The Commemorations Unit, Department of  Tourism, Culture Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media proudly supports the Fingal Arts Department in association with the Irish Writers Centre in the commissioning of six pieces of new writing, including monologues, short stories, poetry and prose that will not only commemorate the anniversary of the formation of the Irish State in 1921 it will also mark the 30th anniversary of the Irish Writers Centre.

St Fintan’s Well

On the south side of the hill of Howth along the Carrickbrack Road lies the holy well of St. Fintan.  Although the well is no longer accessible to the public, local memory of its waters runs strong.

Special Visitors at First FAI Summer Soccer School in Tyrrelstown

The Irish women’s national football team head coach, Vera Pauw, and goalkeeping coach, Jan Williem van Ede, visited the first FAI Summer Soccer School to be held in Tyrrelstown on August 3. Their visit will hopefully encourage the children to keep playing football and to join the Tyrrelstown FC academy which is due to start in September.
