Fingal County Council, in partnership with Dublin City Council, iBike Dublin and the Office of Public Works (OPW), is excited to announce the return of the Bike Disco which is an annual night-time cycling event that celebrates fun, freedom and sustainable mobility.

To launch the event, influencer Amber Arkins joined members of iBike Dublin for a vibrant promotional photoshoot on Parliament Street. The campaign aims to inspire teenage girls and women to embrace cycling as a joyful, inclusive, and empowering way to travel.

This year’s Bike Disco will take place on Friday, 10 October 2025. Starting from the Phoenix Monument on Chesterfield Avenue, the 5km traffic-free cycle will follow a scenic route along Ordnance Survey Road, through the Lower and Upper Glen, out via Furze Road, finishing back on Chesterfield Avenue. Kick-off is at 7:45 PM sharp. Cyclists of all ages are invited to light up their bikes with glow sticks, fairy lights, and colourful accessories, and join a lively ride through the park. The cycle will feature live music from The iBike Dublin cargo bike DJs and a vibrant, festival-style atmosphere along the route.

“Cycling should feel fun and social,” said Emma Court, Walking & Cycling Officer at Fingal County Council. “Events like the Bike Disco help more people, especially young women, feel confident and visible on their bikes.”

The Bike Disco is part of Fingal County Council’s wider active travel programme, which promotes low-carbon, environmentally friendly modes of transport and encourages people to experience their surroundings in a new light.

Tickets are free, but registration is essential via Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/bike-disco-tickets-1720592461369.  Participants are encouraged to bring their brightest lights, most colourful outfits, and best energy for a night of celebration on wheels. Fingal County Council would like to remind cyclists to dress appropriately for the weather, to bring along your helmet and ensure your bicycle is road worthy.
