Safety Advice

Fingal County Council has the following Key Public safety messages to the public

• Monitor Met Eireann forecasts for the latest weather updates, especially for local conditions

• Never drive through flooded roads, the depth of the water can be deceiving

• Motorists should slowdown in heavy rainfall, as visibility can become an issue, also be aware that braking distances can be longer due to any build-up of surface water.

To Help Prevent Flooding

To help prevent localised flooding on our roads and in particular the rural roads, Fingal County Council would ask for assistance from landowners and households to prevent and mitigate flooding from their properties, by ensuring that water is not obstructed from draining onto lands from a public road.
