Make it magical and play it safe in Fingal this Halloween

Fingal is gearing up for Halloween with a month of family-friendly fun and a strong focus on planning ahead, staying alert and keeping communities safe when taking to Fingal’s streets this October.
While entertaining residents of all ages is key, the Fingal Safer Halloween Programme is also underway to provide activities for young people and encourage greater safety during festivities. An initiative of Fingal County Council Community Development Office that supports several local community centres and voluntary groups, we have a number of events taking place across the county - from magical shows to fancy-dress discos and pumpkin carving, we've got something for all fiendish tastes.
Our local libraries are also getting into the Halloween spirit with spooky arts and crafts sessions and storytelling of seasonal tales. Don't miss out – reserve your spot in advance by contacting the library hosting the event. Find out more here.
This year, Fingal is also proudly serving as a hub for “Ireland: Home of Halloween”. Curated by our Events & Tourism teams, expect spectacular shows, eerie trails, and family frights, safely run and easy to access. The magic runs 3rd to 31st of October, with spellbinding spectacles, creepy capers, and safe, family thrills, we have conjured something for everyone. As Halloween approaches, please don't forget to keep our environment in mind by reusing decorations and attending swap shops for costumes, or better yet, make your own! When out and about on foot, bring a torch to light up the night and stay safe. For eco-tips and helpful safety advice, please visit: https://www.fingal.ie/safer-halloween.
The Council wants to remind residents that bonfires and burning of waste is prohibited and illegal. Fingal County Council spends up to €150,000 each year to clean up & repair damage caused by bonfire and urges members of the public to report incidences of material being collected through the council’s Customer Care team on 01 890 5000 or alternatively by emailing:

To help prevent illegal bonfires, a Halloween Amnesty will be taking from Thursday 23rd to Friday 31st of October. During this period, household combustible materials (beds, sofas, wooden doors, etc.) will be accepted free of charge at Estuary Recycling Centre (Swords) and Coolmine Recycling Centre for residents of Fingal. Proof of address will be required, and standard charges will still apply for non-combustible materials.
And remember, in case of an emergency, dial 999 or 112 for the Fire Brigade immediately.
