Historic Structures Fund 2026 Open for Applications

Fingal County Council is now inviting applications under the Historic Structures Fund for large-scale repairs or conservation projects to Protected Structures and buildings that enhance Architectural Conservation Areas within the Fingal area.  Over the past 5 years almost €626,000 has been awarded to significant buildings and structures in Fingal to address structural issues or to carry out substantial repairs.   Applications for privately owned buildings or from community groups should be submitted to the Conservation Office of Fingal County Council by email: <span>[email protected]  by the closing date of 16 January 2026.
The National Built Heritage Service provides the finance for the Historic Structures Fund.  Fingal’s Architectural Conservation Officers, Helena Bergin and Bronagh Lanigan, welcome the government’s continued investment and financial support for the country’s built heritage.  
“The Historic Structures Fund offers a lifeline to owners of historic properties where they are facing a considerable outlay to undertake sizable repairs to protect the original or historic fabric of their buildings.  The Conservation Office has seen the profound impact this level of funding has had in assisting ordinary people or organisations with limited budgets to resource the required works that will protect and extend the lifespan of the buildings and structures that contribute so much to the character of Fingal’s towns, villages and countryside.”

Conservation Clinic 01 December 2025
