Green IT Your Work – Project Summary
The Green IT Your Work project launched with its kick-off meeting in Sinaia, Romania, on February 27th–28th 2023. Representatives from Romania, Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, and Ireland participated. The project aims to:
- Facilitate youth debates on the European Digital Age, highlighting the role of young people in the green transition.
- Promote green jobs to help develop greener European cities.
Project Meetings & Key Activities
Alicante, Spain – 10th–11th May 2023
The second project meeting took place in Alicante, with ongoing efforts to achieve the project’s objectives. The delegation visited the Hogar Provincial composting centre, which operates a pilot community composting plant. They also toured Casa Tápena in Onil, learning about environmental education and leveraging nature as an educational resource.
Agia, Greece – 29th August 2023
The third meeting, hosted in Agia, included a visit to JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa. This park fosters a hybrid ecosystem connecting physical and digital realms, science and entrepreneurship, and diverse audiences. The park supports innovation in eHealth, EduTech, AgriTech, and eTourism through inclusive, collaborative practices.
Larnaca, Cyprus – December 2023
At the fourth meeting in Larnaca, partners reaffirmed their commitment to the core project goals of youth engagement and green job promotion.
Fingal, Ireland – 6th–7th March 2024
Fingal County Council hosted the fifth international meeting during Local Enterprise Week under the theme “It’s Time For Green Start.” Attendees participated in events including:
- A site visit to Techcrete, which targets net-zero emissions by 2030.
- A presentation by Foróige Balbriggan on its pioneering Technology Hub.
- Insights on Fingal’s sustainable initiatives, including the Green Schools Programme.
- Student-led business presentations from Ardgillan Community College.
- A workshop in Balbriggan’s Warehouse and a visit to Cliff Farm in Howth, featuring the Conservation Grazing Project led by Hans Visser and Melissa Jeuken.

Kočevje, Slovenia – May 2024
This meeting focused on Green Portals for Youth. Delegates met at the Kočevsko Institute and visited a local Gymnasium, where students presented their ‘ITS-GRETA’ project. They also explored the Organic Farm Kocjančič in Gotenica, discussing sustainable practices and challenges in organic farming.
Pregrada, Croatia – 24th–27th September 2024
Under Work Package 7: Green Transition Needs Synergy, the network met in Pregrada. Activities included:
- Eco-initiatives at local kindergarten Dječji vrtić "Naša radost."
- A cultural exploration at the Muzej grada Pregrade.
- Youth engagement insights from the Savjet mladih Grada Pregrade.
- Visits to a recycling yard project, an ecological pool construction site, and the TRAGEC family farm for a closer look at sustainable agriculture.
Pordenone, Italy – 19th–21st November 2024
The final 2024 meeting, focused on Work Package 8: Be Decent Green, was hosted by Ubik Art. Highlights included:
- Discussions on green hospitality and social sustainability via initiatives like gluo.org.
- Accessibility improvements at the Museum of Natural History.
- A visit to the Noncello Cooperative, founded by the city’s Mental Health Centre to promote social integration and community impact through innovative services and projects.
