The Aircraft Noise Competent Authority welcomes the addition of three noise monitoring terminals by daa to its network of noise monitoring stations in the communities around Dublin Airport.

On 24 September 2021, the Minister for Housing, Local Government & Heritage, received a transboundary EIA screening statement in relation to the proposed Awel y Mȏr Offshore Windfarm, which was conducted on behalf of the Secretary of State at the pre-application stage. The transboundary screening process identified potential transboundary issues for Ireland relating to impacts on fish, shellfish, marine mammals and sea birds and commercial shipping.

In order to inform the future development of the Ward River Regional Park in Swords, Fingal County Council is set to host a Community Consultation Session on the afternoon of Saturday October 8.

This Make Way Day Fingal County Council and Disability Federation Ireland appeal to users to park their bikes safely and not block the way for people with disabilities. 

The bathing season ended on the 15th September, so there won't be Lifeguards on duty and water quality sampling will not take place until 2023.

Fingal Libraries sixth annual Festival of History was officially launched by the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Howard Mahony, at Swords Castle and will run from Monday 10th to Saturday 15th October 2022 across a number of Fingal Library branches and will culminate in the History at the Castle Day at Swords Castle on Saturday 15th October.

ESB and Fingal County Council came together this week to officially launch the ESB eBike pilot project across three Fingal locations in conjunction with leading micro-mobility provider Bleeper, research partner Trinity College Dublin, innovation partner Dogpatch Labs and co-funding partner Interreg North-West Europe.

A Noise Abatement Objective (NAO) is a policy objective for managing the effects of aircraft noise emissions on the surrounding communities and environment at an airport.
