Swords Cultural Quarter and Public Realm
The Swords Cultural Quarter is a 3.89 acre area around the junction of North Street, Seatown Road, Bridge Street and Main Street which includes Swords Castle, County Hall, Swords Courthouse and the Carnegie Library.
The redevelopment will improve the setting for Swords Castle with landscaped civic spaces and amenities for the public to enjoy adjoining the new Culture House. It is one of 16 projects contained in the Council’s Sustainable Swords Strategy which is a detailed plan to rejuvenate the centre of Fingal’s county town.
The Public Realm works are a key component of the Swords Cultural Quarter Project. These works will include upgraded streets, landscaping, lighting and a new events space creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly civic space for residents and visitors.
Phase One Public Realm Works
To facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of Phase One, two bus stops located directly in front of Fingal County Hall each side of Main Street will be temporarily relocated nearby for the duration of the first phase of works.
