Fingal County Council are delighted to announce, in partnership with the Irish Coast Guard and Howth SAAO Committee, that a new safety initiative for Howth has been completed. The innovative network of safety signage is now in place on the Howth Looped Paths walking trails.

Primary Schools across Fingal are to receive a weather station rain gauge as part of an effort by Fingal County Council to produce more detailed rainfall records for the county.

Fingal County Council will immediately begin the process of procuring a new operator for its successful attractions at Malahide Castle, Newbridge House and the Casino Model Railway Museum following the decision of Shannon Heritage to withdraw from their contract.

These works utilise painting techniques and approaches that required a huge amount of research and experimentation over quite a few years. Processes such as encaustic with its use of oil, wax, pigment and dammar varnish are time consuming, temperamental and difficult materials to control. 

As part of Fingal County Council's Commemorations programme 2018-2023, the Arts & Libraries Department have produced two separate distinctive elements to commemorate the Burning of the Coast Guard Buildings in June 1921.  The Libraries Exhibition and the Fingal Arts new writing commission on the theme were launched today by Mayor of Fingal Cllr.
