Ongar Barnhill Road
The Ongar to Barnhill Road was constructed south of Ongar and provides improved access to Barnhill LAP (Local Area Plan) lands, where circa 1200 new homes will be built in the coming years.
The 1.9kms of road includes a new bridge over the Clonsilla-M3 Parkway rail spur, 1km of dual carriageway road embankment, 0.9km of single carriageway, 2 new crossroads with traffic lights and 3 new roundabouts.
Contractor BAM Civil Ltd carried out this work on behalf of Fingal County Council.
The official opening ceremony for the Ongar Barnhill Road took place on 13 February 2026.

Sod Turning
The sod was officially turned on the project by Mayor of Fingal, Councillor Adrian Henchy, on Friday 8 September 2023.
