Works on transformational Naul Village Park officially commence

Fingal County Council has welcomed the official commencement of works on the Naul Village Park which, when completed, will deliver a range of amenities to the local area including a playground, village green, and community garden.

The sod turning ceremony, attended by Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tom O’Leary, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly, Fingal County Council’s Parks and Landscape Department, and local representatives marks a milestone in the delivery of much needed community spaces in the Naul area.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tom O’Leary said: “Today marks an exciting new chapter for Naul Village as we officially break ground on this much-anticipated park. This space will serve as a vital hub for families, friends, and neighbours to connect, relax, play and enjoy the beauty of our locality. Congratulations to all involved in getting this project underway."

Work on the new amenities is now officially underway and will be carried out by Vision Contracting.

The new Village Park will incorporate a number of features including:

· An inclusive playground that can cater for a wide age range

· Village Green

· Reflection and community garden

· Rain gardens

· 15 space car park

· Container for use by community groups

· Water fountain and rest stop for cyclists

· Defined entry points for pedestrians from the public footpath and a new footpath and open space offering within the park

· Universally accessible route that connects the park and the area to the rear of the Séamus Ennis Arts Centre

Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly said: “It’s hugely exciting to see work underway on this fantastic project. Naul Village Park reflects our commitment to enhancing local amenities, promoting wellbeing, and preserving the natural beauty of our rural villages. I look forward to seeing it completed."

Senior Parks and Landscape Officer at Fingal County Council, Kevin Halpenny said: “I’m very pleased to see works beginning on this transformational project for Naul. Our vision is to create a space which is sensitive to and reflective of the cultural, historical, and natural heritage of the site. This will be a place where the community can come together and we’re proud to be playing our part in delivering it."
