Feedback from previous bursary recipients
'The time, space, and funds that Children’s Books Ireland offered me to stay at TGC was incredibly impactful on my work and myself as a writer. I was able to rewrite a good fourth of my novel while there, and it laid the path for a complete overhaul of a second draft. I can honestly say, this residency was exactly what was needed in my career at exactly the right time.Thank you so much for this opportunity and once again, I’m honoured you chose me.'
— Author Caitriona Sweeney
'The week’s residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre is invaluable - and will cast its glow forward on my work for some time. I feel steadier in my own creative practice - it is affirming and reassuring to meet other artists and witness their creative work, process and experiences. Being able to show up at that space every day and work without distractions gave me confidence and faith in myself that I am on the right path. I’m so grateful to everyone who made this bursary possible!'
— Writer and Illustrator Erin Connally
