Temporary Do not Swim Notice Issued Rush South Beach

rush do not swim

Please be advised that a Temporary Do not Swim Notice has been issued today for Rush South Beach for 72hours. This is due to the risk of deterioration of water quality due to a sewage overflow emergency caused by pump failure. The overflow has now ceased.

A seawater sample will be taken today, July 29th and results of laboratory analysis will be available on 31st July 31st when the Do not Swim notice will be reviewed.

The Rush South Beach remains open but beach users are asked to respect the ‘Do Not Swim’ notice as it has been put in place to ensure that the health of bathers is not compromised.

Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
