Smiles, Sunshine, and Splashing Fun at Fingal Water Sport Camp

Fingal County Council, in partnership with Active Connections and Howth Yacht Club hosted the second Fingal Water Sport Camp for children with additional needs.
Hosted under bright blue skies and warm sunshine, the camp welcomed young participants of different abilities from all over Fingal to take part in kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing in a safe and supportive environment. With adaptive equipment, trained instructors, one to one support and a focus on fun, every child had the chance to experience the joy of water sports.

The Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, AnnMarie Farrelly said “We are delighted to offer this Water sport camp for children with additional needs. This 4 day camp has given 20 children the opportunity to experience various water sport at their own pace in a supported environment. Camp’s like this highlight Fingal’s commitment to the 2025 – 2029 corporate plan of Delivery for All, a people cantered approach where every person in Fingal should be able to access the services, supports, and opportunities that they need to thrive”
Having attended the camp, Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tom O’Leary said “I was delighted to meet some participants and their parents. There was a great atmosphere, seeing so many smiles on so many faces was wonderful”
