A review of the effectiveness of noise mitigation measures at Dublin Airport for 2024

There is a significant body of research linking environmental noise from transportation and industrial sources to negative health outcomes. The aviation industry makes a significant contribution to the economic and social needs of Irish society, but the noise impact of this activity must be carefully managed and mitigated to ensure the protection of human health and the enjoyment of the environment.
A report by ANCA on the effectiveness of the noise management measures in place at Dublin Airport for the 2024 operational year is now available. The implementation of some noise management measures is in transition through planning and regulatory processes. In the context of growth of aviation activity at the airport, it remains important to ensure that a robust noise management framework is in place to deliver an effective balance between the positive aspects of aviation activity and the impact on the environment.
