Nominations sought for Garda Youth Awards

The Garda Youth Awards celebrate outstanding young people aged between 13 and 21 years, by recognising the good work they are doing throughout their communities.

Nominations are now being sought for the 2021 Awards from individuals and groups in the DMR North Garda Division which covers the Districts of Ballymun, Coolock, Raheny and Balbriggan. The DMR North area covers a large part of Fingal as well as the North City area of Dublin.

The Award Categories are:

  • Individual Award
  • Group Award
  • Special Achievement Award
  • Community Safety Award

Application Forms must be submitted to [email protected] by June 25. Any member of the public may nominate anyone whom they feel deserves an award and nominations may be submitted by family members or relatives.

The Awards are confined to those young people who are aged between 13 and 21 years of age on June 25, 2021 and the permanent residence of the young person must be in the Garda Division in which they are nominated, in this case DMR North. Awards are confined to individuals and groups of two or more people and the Judges’ decision is final.

The Judging Panel will decide upon one nominee in each category to go forward to represent the DMR North Division at the National Garda Youth Awards. Details of theses nominees will be passed on to the Judging Panel of the Garda National Youth Awards. The Judging Panel will consist of up to six members, chaired by a member of An Garda Síochána not below the Rank of Inspector.
