Fingal County Council Sports Office has launched it’s 2020 Youth Sports Grant Scheme, supported by Sport Ireland.  The Scheme is to enable clubs to fund the purchase of additional equipment and is being launched early this year to enable Sports Clubs working with young people purchase additional sports equipment needed to remain compliant with the National COVID 19 Guidelines

The funding is open to  voluntary, sporting organisation working with young people based in the Fingal area.

Through an online application process, Sports clubs who are affiliated to a recognised National Governing Body or a recognised disability organisation can apply for this grant. Clubs may apply for grant aid for sports equipment purchase or activities that will encourage or increase participation in sport.

Applications that create a positive impact on participation levels and demonstrate sustainability within the club will have a greater opportunity for funding approval.

Speaking about the funding launch Marion Brown, Principal Sports Officer Fingal County Council said: “Returning to activity for  voluntary  sports clubs after the restrictions of COVID-19 while positive and exciting also poses great challenges with regard to compliance with National COVID-19 guidelines. We hope this funding opportunity will assist clubs to deal with these challenges.”
