Fingal County Council has announced that Robert Burns has taken up the role of Director for Housing and Community Development from today Monday, 24 January. 

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD, presented to Fingal County Council the first copies of two publications that will help improve the quality, cost-effectiveness and pace of delivery of social homes and mixed-tenure developments.

Operation Transformation Leader and Swords resident Katie Jones along with the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Seána Ó Rodaigh, joined enthusiastic walkers on Sunday January 16th in Holywell Park to complete a 3k walk organised by Fingal County Council Sport Office in conjunction with Operation Transformation.

Advance works for a new €8.5m Pedestrian and Cycle Route along the Harry Reynolds Road in Balbriggan will begin in the new year, with landscaping and clearance work set to commence on January 4.

Fingal County Council has awarded  €19,550 to 46 sports clubs throughout Fingal under the Youth Sports Grants Scheme. Councillors approved the funding which will see €425 allocated to each of the successful organisations. 

Fingal County Council has taken another positive step in its efforts to reduce its energy consumption by engaging an energy services company to deliver significant energy efficiency upgrades for the Civic Offices in Blanchardstown and County Hall in Swords.

A major End of Life Vehicle (ELV) operation was completed at a site at Barn Lodge in Finglas this week, as Fingal County Council’s Waste Enforcement Unit removed 80 cars and 65 commercial vehicles from the Dublin 11 site. 

While Santa and his reindeers may be preparing for their busiest night of the year, there still was much activity at Newbridge House and Farm this week as a whole family of alpacas joined the rest of the resident Donabate animals to help spread some Christmas cheer to visitors.
