Balbriggan’s Main Street has undergone refurbishment thanks to an enhancement scheme led by Fingal County Council’s Town Rejuvenation Office.

Established to make towns across Fingal an even better place to live, work, visit and do business, Fingal County Council’s, Town Rejuvenation Office provided funds through the Our Balbriggan programme.

A total of 23 business premises located in the centre of the town were approved for grants under the shopfront improvement scheme.

The scheme was initiated to enhance the street and reward local businesses for ensuring shopfronts are well presented.

Business owners will receive up to €1,500 to repaint, repair, replace signage and enhance greenery as well as declutter their shopfronts.

According to the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Adrian Henchy, the scheme has contributed significantly to Balbriggan.

“The improvement and maintenance of the streetscape is key to how people feel about a town,” he said.

John Quinlivan, Director of Economic, Enterprise, Tourism and Cultural Development at Fingal County Council, said the authority was pleased with the results of the scheme.

“I would like to thank local business owners for getting involved, we received a great response and the results speak for themselves.”
