Recycling

bring banks

There are 57 bring banks in Fingal, making it easy for you to recycle. Please note that it is an offence to leave any litter outside banks at our sites.

To find your nearest bring bank please use the following link: https://repak.ie/for-home/facilities-search/

Most bring banks are open 24 hours.

However, please don’t use glass banks during the night as the noise may disturb local residents.

Bring banks have up to three types of recycling containers. What you can bring depends the containers on site.

  1. Glass banks: You can recycle glass bottles and jars. Separate them by colour – clear, green and brown. Please don’t put in ceramics, window glass, pyrex cookware or drinking glasses. They are made of a different type of glass and will contaminate all other items in the container.
  2. Can banks: You can recycle Aluminium drinks cans. Please crush the cans so we can fit more in the container.
  3. Textile banks: You can recycle clothes that are in good condition and shoes in pairs. Please don’t put in duvets or pillows.

What if the bring bank is full?

Contact us at (01) 890 5000 and we will arrange for the banks to be emptied.

Please do not leave bottles on the ground beside the bins, this will be considered as littering and is also a health and safety risk.

Please don’t leave empty boxes, bag or bottletops or any other items beside or on top of the recycling containers. This is littering and you could be fined €150.

There is CCTV cameras in operation at many of the bring banks.

Bring your empty cardboard boxes, bags, and bottle tops home, tear them apart and put them in your green bin.

If you don’t have a green bin, bring them to your nearest recycling centre.

Textile Banks, Clothes & Shoes

Textile recycling is a very important part of the waste management system.

Textiles are collected and exported to to other countries where they are sorted and sold for rewear use and as such it is a very important part of the circular economy. 99% of the clothes recycled in Fingal are exported for Rewear use. Please ensure shoes are in pairs.

Approximately 20 tons per month of clothing is collected from the clothing banks.
