The third Dublin Metropolitan Area Walking and Cycling Index was published on Tuesday, 5 March 2024.

530,000 return active travel trips are made daily in the Dublin Metropolitan Area by people who could have used a car. These trips play a vital role in helping to create a more sustainable, more liveable city and wider region.

The data outlined in this report tells us that residents want to walk, wheel and cycle more often and drive less often. Fingal County Council will use this information as we develop active travel facilities to meet that demand.
