Community Climate Action Fingal
Community Climate Action Fingal supports climate actions at community level for community/ voluntary organisation’s buildings, gardens, facilities and services. There are five themes in the grant Community Energy, Travel, Shopping and Recycling, Food and Waste and Environmental/ Climate projects. A wide range of projects were approved for funding during the first round (details listed below). Round 2 was open for applications from 20th October to 22nd December 2025 but this grant is now closed.
The aim of the grant is to reduce existing emissions.
Here is a list of the types of community projects which were approved in the last round.
- Replace doors
- Replace windows
- Replacement of lights to upgrade to LEDs
- Insulate Attic
- Insulate walls
- Replace glazed area with more efficient glazing
- Install Solar PV
- Install Solar PV and Battery
- Insulate piping for heating systems
- Develop or Improve Community Garden
- Install composter
- Replace hand-roll dispensers with efficient hand dryers
- Plant (200) trees or native hedging, fruit trees or berry bushes
- Develop a Nature space for biodiversity and amenity
- Purchase items to run regular swap shops
- Purchase reusable cups for club
- Purchase and install bike lockers
- Purchase and install bike parking (including any civil works)
- Purchase and install water bottle fillers/ drinking water fountain (including any civil works)
- Purchase and install bike repair station (including any civil works)
The Community Climate Action Grant is administered by Fingal County Council Environment, Climate Action and Sports Department.

Who is eligible?
Eligibility:
Community organisations meeting the requirements listed below are eligible to apply to partner with the Local Authorities to implement a project under this Programme, they:
• must be a not-for-profit organisation
• must be located in the operational area of the LA to which it is applying for funding
• must submit a completed application form on or before the specified closing date and time
• must be registered with the County Public Participation Network (PPN) or connected with other collectives such as the Wheel, Tidy Towns and /or a community group with Articles of Association or a Constitution, which hold an AGM, and for which approved minutes are available.
Furthermore:
• The project applied for must be in line with the aim/purpose of the Community Climate Action Programme
• Only one application per organisation may be submitted for consideration – projects proposed could cut across several of the themes and be bundled together as part of a single application.
The following are not eligible to apply:
- Private individuals
- Commercial undertakings (including sole traders)
- National community and environmental organisations.
