Created by the Department of Environment, Climate Action and Active Travel, the draft Active Travel Strategy is a first for Fingal as it looks to the future of Active Travel and transport in the county.

Construction work has commenced today at Balmoston, one of the largest residential housing developments in the state.

Last weekend saw another successful Let’s Play Rush event, with many families gathered at Tayleur’s Point to take part in a fun filled day of sporting games and activities in an old school style Sports Day, building on the success of the event held last year at Tayleur’s Point.

Several housing estate roads across the Fingal County will be closed between 12pm-4pm on Sunday 30th July 2023 and again on Sunday 27th August 2023 for a Fingal County Council Community Pilot scheme event.

Iarnród Éireann and the National Transport Authority have announced that the new train charging infrastructure will greatly enhance the battery-electric fleet, allowing for an expanded and emission-free service in advance of the planned electrification of the line.

The Ongar to Barnhill Road will be constructed south of Ongar and will provide improved access to Barnhill LAP (Local Area Plan) lands, where circa 1200 new homes will be built in the coming years.

Fingal County Council, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Peel X, were delighted to launch two new digital heritage trails for Castleknock and Balbriggan that are now live on the Dublin Discovery Trails app!
