Retail spending in the Dublin economy increased in Q3 2024 for the 17th consecutive quarter, albeit at a more subdued rate than the previous quarter according to the latest MasterCard SpendingPulse™, produced on behalf of the four Dublin Local Authorities.

Fingal County Council has paid over €11m to over 2,800 businesses across the county under the Increased Cost of Business (ICOB) Grant.

Fingal County Council will consider a scheme providing for abatement of rates in respect of vacant properties, applying in the 2025 local financial year. 

As part of Budget 2024, the Government signed off on a package of €257m for the Increased Cost of Business (ICOB) Grant as a vital measure for small and medium businesses. Fingal County Council, funded through Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), will manage the rollout of the grant to qualifying businesses within the county.
