Summer Stars 2021 kicks off at Fingal Libraries

Summer stars

Summer Stars is an annual initiative under the Right to Read Programme which promotes children’s literacy and reading development. Summer Stars takes place from 14th June to 31st August and focuses on encouraging children to develop and continue the reading habit during the summer months. 


The Summer Star Reading Challenge here in Fingal libraries will be featuring storytime videos, quizzes and competitions online on our Social Media channels, Facebook ,

Twitter , Youtube and Instagram


Visit a Fingal Library Branch nearest to you and you can loan up to 12 items for three weeks. You can also view the online catalogue here;

Libraries Ireland is running a Short Story competition, celebrating your imagination. There are three age categories: age 6-9, age 10-14, age 15-18, with great prices for all the winners and runners up. 

To enter, write a story using the following opening line:
