Smart Balbriggan debuted a town calendar at the recent partnership launch between the CONNECT Centre and Fingal County Council.

As one of the youngest towns in Ireland with an average age of 30, combined with the fact that 28% of residents are born outside of Ireland, the people of Balbriggan provide a wide array of activities and the calendar is a way to help people connect with each other through local events.

The site, BaileBrigín.com is simple and lowtech by design to be inclusive and to provide an easy way to discover the local happenings, and a site where anyone can submit an event quite easily themselves on a computer or mobile device.

With a new 400-seat theatre, The Lark Dublin opening this Spring at the Irish Institute of Music & Song alongside a burgeoning underground arts movement, the town of Balbriggan is rapidly becoming known as a destination for the arts.  With so much going on and such a diverse community, the calendar is a small way to connect people with technology.
