Velvet Strand is a 5km long sandy beach in Portmarnock, which boasts a coveted Blue Flag.

All ten identified beaches, and the non-identified bathing water at Malahide (permanent red flag), met the standard of “excellent” water quality for the pre-season samples.  

Lifeguards are there to protect people at the beach. Please respect them and listen to instructions they give.
